About Me... As an artist, I love to dance and I have been interested in a wide variety of dancing styles throughout my entire life. I have been trained in ballet, modern dance, jazz, hip-hop, and I have always enjoyed performing character dances with rhythm, passion and soul, styles like salsa, samba, African dances, capoeira, latin, hula and folk dances. I fell in love with the mesmerizing and hypnotic art of belly dancing and this encouraged me to dance professionally. My diverse dance background coupled with my prior athletic experiences in gymnastics and figure skating have helped me to create my own uniqe style of dancing. I am formally trained as a classical piano player having studied music for nine years at the School of Music in Novosibirsk, Russia. My ear for music has enabled me to literally feel the beat and the rhythm of the music and to interpret those vibrations into the flow of my body movements. As the musical score changes from one form to another my body is able to seamlessly transition from one type of music to another. My training as an actor allows me to transform my dancing from a mere "belly dance" into powerful, artistic and expressive stage performance. I infuse elegance, passion, energy and creativity into all of my performances. |
I am known for my strong technique, grace, unstoppable energetic shimmies, amazing body isolations and my feel for music. Some of my belly dancing specialties include Raqs Sharqi, Fusion, American Cabaret, Gypsy, swords, veils, Isis wings, cane, finger cymbals (zils), balancing, Turkish drop, floor work, folk dances, and the list keeps growing because I am always open to learning and improving my skills, style and technique. I have performed in a wide variety of venues, ranging from small to big venues, to private parties (up to 700 guests), and to the stage performances with thousands of people in attendance. Some of my dancing credits include Safe Passage Holiday celebration (Honoree presentation: Greg Behrendt, Maria Suarez, Altieri Brothers, Maurice Stei), Hollywood Production Center holiday party, RA Sushi Bar Restaurant Openings in Torrance, CA and Corona, CA, Grammy's after-party sponsored by Yahoo! Music (Sean Paul, Missy Elliott, Nick Carter, Ciara, Jose Canseco were among many celebrity guests), Declassified series (History channel) Wrap Party, Shadow Boxing 2 Wrap Party, Celebration of Awakening event, Anniversary of Taiwan Daily News, New Year & Lantern Festival (Puente Hills Mall, CA), Cairo Carnivale, Grand Opening of Stella Bella store, and a number of charity events too numerous to list. I have been in TV shows, music videos, feature films, worked with a number of singers, musicians and bands including Mario Reyes (from the Gypsy Kings family) and musician Mark Tyson. In addition to being an award-winning performer I am also a dedicated and successful belly dance instructor. I teach weekly classes in the Los Angeles area and I am available (by appointment) for private individual and group lessons. I am available for weddings, birthdays, baby showers, bachelorette parties** and other family and corporate events both as a performer and an instructor... - 30-minute show. May include finger cymbals (zills), veil, cane, sword, and other props, drum solo, audience participation. Can be extended up to 1 hour upon request.
